T.S.Eliot by 'The Waste Land'

Hello, readers here my blog part of activity. This blog sumitted to Department of  English Maharaja KruashnKumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.

T.S.Eliot:-

Thomas Stearns Eliot is one of the twentieth century's major poet's. He was also essayist, publisher, playwright, and literary and social critic. It was followed by some of the best-known poems in the English language, including "The Waste Land" , "The Hollow Men" , "Ash Wednesday", and "Four Quarters".

" The Waste Land "

"The Waste Land" is a poem by The.S. Eliot, widely regarded as one of the most important poems of the 20th century and a central work of modernist poetry.

The poem's structure is divided into five sections.
1. ' The Burial of the Dead'
2. ' A Game of Chess'
3. ' The Fire Sermon'
4. ' Death by Water'
5. ' What the Thunder said'.

1)  what are your views on the following image after reading ' The Waste Land'? Do you think that Eliot is as compared to Nietzsche's views? Or has Eliot achieved universality answer to the contemporary malaise?

Ans:-
Yes, I think T.S.Eliot or Nietzsche both own way but according to me both are importance contemporary because progressive and forward or regressive and backward looking like 'one corn two side' both are important.

past is very important or present also importance like past is shoulder upon setting present so Eliot had Historical sense (past) by see Nietzsche Modern history ( present).

So, religious or philosophy and science all are importance.

2) Prior to the speech, Gustaf Hellstrom of the Swedish Academy made these remarks.

Ans:-
Here , according to me I live both side may be Freud true or may be Eliot also true because I believe sometime or some situations live in individual or sometime live with tradition. Because may be individual or Modern man  is important sometime or someplace of life or also Traditions or salvation man importance someplace or time both use in proper way is very important.

3) write about allusions to the Indian thoughts in 'The Waste Land'.

Ans:-
In poem use India word " The Fire Sermon " is also the name of sermon given by Buddha.  In poem context of sexual perversion and by referring to this sermon of Buddha because he also wants to convey a message to stay detached from all the senses.

Three Da in use poem three Da is different worlds like "Datta" means to give, seconds "Dayadhvam" means sympathic and empathies yourself with the sorrows and suffering, " Damyata" means self control. This three words use in shantih shantih shantih contact also.

River Ganga and Himalaya in use words in Waste Land Ganga is river of purity and Himalaya is mountain of peace or spiritually so this two things solutions of all contemporary problems.

So , Waste Land in many countries myths , religious world use that why we konw T.S.Eliot is knowledgeable person.

Hello, readers here my blog part of activity. Given by my ma'am Heenaba Zala . This blog sumitted to Department of English Maharaja Kruashnkumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.

Kya Kehna

The Scarlet Letter

1. What are the names of the protagonists in both the works?
Hester
Priya
Ans:- In the " The Scarlet Letter" Novel protagonist character is 'Hester' and "Kya Kehna" movie protagonist character is 'Priya'.

2. Write their story in brief.
Ans:-
"The Scarlet Letter":-

In The Scarlet Letter nameless narrator. In main character A young Woman , Hester Prynne, is led from the town prison with her infant daughter, Pearl, in her arms and the Scarlet Letter "A" on her breast.

Hester's husband, a scholar much older than she is, sent her ahead to America, but he never arrived in Boston. While waiting for her husband, Hester has apparently had an affair, as she has given birth to child name Pearl.

Pearl father or Hester's lover name Priest 'Dimmesdale' . Hester become pregnant and 'Dimmesdale' didi not accept publicly. Hester husband come back and know everything so Hester husband 'Chillingworth' decide revenge with Hester or 'Dimmesdale'. At the end 'Dimmesdale' accepted is father of Hester's child and 'Chillingworth' died and also 'Dimmesdale' died . Then again Hester live alone with her daughter.

"Kya Kehna movie story":-

In Kya Kehna directed by Kundan Shah. In main character Priya Bakshi is the bubbly, free spirited daughter of Gulshan and Rohini Bakshi. 'Priya' parents, brothers and best friend , Ajay love and support her. Ajay is secretly in love with Priya and wishes to marry her in the future, hopefully after she finishes her studies. But Priya love with Playboy Rahul. Both are begin relationship. She pregnant Rahul's child. Rahul didi not accept her child so Priya face many problems . Ajay support Priya at that time . At last Rahul accept his child but Priya rejecte and ultimately chooses to marry Ajay , telling Rahul that he can never be as supportive and dedicated as Ajay.

3. What is the role played by society in Hester's life?

In novel Hester is alone his husband not live with her and left many years so she live alone in society. In society all women with his husband every time at that time Hester alone so society ask questions but Hester not give answers . She waiting his husband but Many time pass after one day,  Hester love with another person and she became pregnant but her lover not accept publically his child so society believe Hester do sin and give punishment at that time Finally her love 'Dimmesdale' conference he is father of Pearls but at last 'Dimmesdale' died and Hester live alone.

4. What is the role played by society in Priya' s life?

Priya love with Rahul and pregnant at that time Rahul not accept his child so all society believe Priya do sin and publish so not talk society members with Priya . Priya family also unhappy and left Priya .

But Ajay live and supports Priya and also her family doing supporting Priya. Rahul come upper class family so his mother not accept Priya . Also Priya pregnant without marriage so society hated her.

And Priya collage program her best friend role became Priya's and everyone daughter Priya character so Priya give wonderful speech try to convince society.

5. Compare and contrast the male characters, Roger Chillingworth, Arthur Dimmesdale, Rahul and Ajay.

Rahul

Chillingworth

In movie or novel one character good or bad always happen. So here Rahul , Ajay , Roger Chillingworth, Arthur Dimmesdale all are different each other. But in movie Rahul or novel Chillingworth few thing same in both of you. And Ajay in movie or Dimmesdale in novel few thing is same.

Dimmesdale

Ajay

Priya love and marriage with Rahul but after her pregnant Rahul not accept his child but Ajay unknowingly love with Priya at last Ajay accept her child or marriage.

And novel Chillingworth marriage with Hester but left Hester after marriage At that time love with Dimmesdale and pregnant but afraid of social so Dimmesdale not accept his child so Hester face so many problem and also Chillingworth come back and take revenge but at last Finally Dimmesdale accept his child or Hester.

6. Compare and contrast 'The Scaffold scene in The Scarlet Letter' a year-end performance in Kya Kehna in which a group of students performas a play on Priya and her pregnancy'.

'The Scaffold scene in Scarlet Letter' and 'a year-end performance in Kya kehna' movie both scene something same but some different like in novel end Hester not speak in public she is not wrong but in movie Priya speak in public she is not wrong decision to giving birth of child this thing in both novel different.

7.what are the reasons that Arthur Dimmesdale and Rahul do not come forward to accept their fatherhood.

Dimmesdale not accept his child because he afraid to society because he is Priest and Rahul not accept his child because he afraid his status . Because Rahul come in upper class family.

8. What is the role played by Chillingworth in Hester's life? Why do you think he wanted to take revenge on Hester and Dimmesdale?

Chillingworth is husband of Hester. And he is left many years so Hester is alone and Hester love with Dimmesdale . So Chillingworth come back see his wife love with other person and she is pregnant.
So Chillingworth decide take revenge with Hester and Dimmesdale.

9. What is the role played by Rahul's mother in Priya's life? Why do you think she wants to take revenge on Priya?

Rahul is a lover of Priya so Rahul's mother is Priya's lover mother.she think take revenge because Priya wish to marriage with Rahul and she believes Priya is come in middle class family so she doesn't like her son marriage in middle class family and may be she thought Priya marriage only her wealth that why she revenge on Priya.

10. Write a note on class different in Kya Kehna.

Movie Kya Kehna in two class story. One upper class another middle class Rahul belong to upper class and Priya belong to middle class that why he mother do not accept to marriage with Priya so all story created around two characters.

11. Why do you think the director has lifted the character of Ajay to the ideal state? Is it possible in real life? What are the reasons of your yes or no?

According to my point of you may be both situation doing yes or no upon person think or his family or his social .

12. How do you see Hester and Priya as individuals?

Hester or Priya both strong but at last Hester strongst  is week then Priya so Priya is very strong.

13. Write a critical note on the end of the movie or novel. Why do you think the novelist has not give happy ending?

Novelist has not give happy ending because novel in became death so death is not happy. And movie Priya and all in the end happy live life.
