Girish Raghunath Karnad, the Karnataka film actor, ditrctord writer, and playwright died at the age of 81 due to multiple organ failure. Girish Karnad is one of the influential playwrights in modern time. His drama has become employed imagination, innovation and craftsmanship. After his death so many controversy happen but not more shown by journalist and which we know controversy that may be real or some fact also.
Many work has been done in the field of drama since the 1980's. Girish Karnad 's Hayrkadana is based on Thomas Mann's "Transposed Heads" story. This is based on the version of the story of vate panchavimshatipan. The paly of Girish Karnad: the development of Girish Karnad as a playwright but Karnad is heavily dependent on Thomas Mann's story.
Tughlaq by Girish Karnad. In the middle 60s Girish Karnad was a 22 year old playwright in search of a subject. He had just completed writing about the whim of a king when he came upon the statement of a fellow Kannada play as costume drama.
His ''Tughlaq" is a theatrical representation strong in rhetoric of the 14th century king who destabilised his own kingdom. 'Tughlaq' play base on the life of Muhammad bin Tughlaq and delhi saltanat.
Here Karnad compare story of Jawaharlal Nehru and Tughlaq. Both are as misunderstood geniuses. In Karnataka's celebrated "Tipu jayanti" also. As a playwright Girish Karnad's successful career drama is gayti. In 1960, Canadians playnnedto leave India to Oxford, and for three years they were in violation of his parents hope aa a scholar of Rhodes.
Therefore play is related to the sacrifice of the old generation. Tughlaq was first staged in Urdu in 1966 as part of a National School of Drama student production directed by actor om shivpurish then a student.

As expected Karnad was publicly opposed to the BJP and sangh parivar and yet, he was not against accepting the directorship of the Nehru centre and the post odominister of culture in the Indian high commission in London under Bajpayee's government.
